PFFS-U
Paulo Freire Freedom School – University is located in Tucson, Arizona near the University of Arizona. Since our opening in 2005 we have provided PFFS students with a powerful, engaging curriculum, used research based, best teaching practices, attended to the needs of the whole child, and connected learning to our larger community. Our school is a demonstration site/lab school within CITY Center for Collaborative Learning. PFFS-University is housed at the historic, former YWCA building on 300 East University Blvd – home to a progressive community of organizations that promote the arts, education and the environment. For a complete list of tenants see ‘The Historic Y. We use our central location, midway between UA and downtown Tucson, to create place-based learning experiences away from the building that deepen PFFS-University students’ understanding of our problem-based, project-based curriculum.
Paulo Freire Freedom School – University is a fully inclusive learning community which welcomes all learners. We are skilled at supporting every student so they are able to reach their immense potentials in their own unique ways.
