Schools and Sites

CITY Center for Collaborative Learning operates three small secondary schools in the downtown/university area of Tucson, Arizona. The schools’ teachers and leaders work together daily – in collaboration with our 340 students and their families – to design and implement the innovative and exemplary practices that we hold dear.

  • The Paulo Freire Freedom Schools, at two locations, serve a total of 156 middle school students in grades 6-8.
  • City High School has 195 students in grades 9-12.

As part of our project based learning curriculum and commitment to creating real world connections for kids,  we view our downtown and university neighborhoods – and all of Tucson and Southern Arizona – as our larger learning environment.

All of our schools focus on educating the whole person.  Our academics are authentic and meaningful, we integrate social emotional learning throughout our school, and we cultivate an inclusive and welcoming school environment for all students and families.

CITY Center for Collaborative Learning Schools are small schools where students can develop at their own pace and thrive using their unique and powerful strengths.  We invite you to explore our schools to see if they are a great fit for you.
